What my clients say

  • I would recommend it to anyone working in a team environment

Allison Metz, Ph.D. Professor of the Practice and Director of Implementation Practice, UNC Chapel Hill
The Train the Trainer offered by Tom Geraghty was an incredible opportunity to learn how to foster psychological safety within these teams. I appreciated the knowledge and skill building Tom so generously shared with us. Attending the Train the Trainer will absolutely make a difference in my work supporting transformative change in public systems. I would recommend it to anyone working in a team environment – which I think is everyone!
  • What better learning strategy is there than experiencing it in real time!

what better learning strategy is there than experiencing it in real time!
I recently attended a virtual workshop on Psychological Safety with Tom Geraghty. Not only did I learn about the elements that constitute creating and maintaining a psychologically safe environment, but I felt it as well. Tom did a fantastic job to enable a safe space – and what better learning strategy is there than experiencing it in real time! His content is relevant and memorable and I highly recommend his work!
  • Tom Geraghty sets the standard for what best-in-class looks like.

    Molly DeShazo, Executive Coach

In my opinion, Tom Geraghty sets the standard for what best-in-class looks like. I consider him to be a multi-hyphenate in that he is a thought leader, trainer, and facilitator. But, most importantly, he pushes all of us to expand our thinking when it comes to defining, exploring, and fostering psychological safety. And he does so in a way that doesn't take itself too seriously or feel too overwhelming. I believe it's the sign of a true master who can make the complex simple and that is absolutely Tom.
  • The engagement was awesome and the number of questions was a great sign that people were loving it too.

Thank you again for speaking at the Agile Northants event. I absolutely loved the content, how you presented it with the stories, and have to say I'm really inspired to start embracing psychological safety as a more serious concern. The studies you raised are really eye opening as to the true value of making sure people do feel safe. The one about flight safety in particular stands out! The engagement was awesome and the number of questions was a great sign that people were loving it too. It's certainly one of the most lively discussions we've had for a while.
  • The activities were excellent for the way they sparked group engagement and reflection.

I really enjoyed Tom's workshop and I found it very helpful for informing my practice as a teacher and consultant. It is clear that Tom has experience facilitating group sessions. The activities were excellent for the way they sparked group engagement and reflection. I would highly recommend following Tom's work for anyone looking to learn more about psychological safety. The engagement was awesome and the number of questions was a great sign that people were loving it too. It's certainly one of the most lively discussions we've had for a while.

Why you should care about psychological safety

  • If your team doesn’t feel safe to come up with new ideas, you’re never going to do anything new.
  • If your team can’t ask questions, they’re never going to learn anything new.
  • If your team never raises concerns, things are likely to go wrong.
  • And if your team doesn’t feel safe to admit mistakes, they’re going to repeat the same mistake (with a much bigger impact).

In short: psychological safety = a happier, higher-performing team.

Psychological safety is key to helping avoid or reduce the impact of failures and encourage more (and better) ideas, faster. Because when you invest in psychological safety, you invest in your people and your organisation.
